Holiday on April 27 for car festival in Thanjavur

A local holiday has been declared by the district administration on April 27 in view of the annual ‘Chithirai Car Festival’ of Sri Brahadeeswarar temple, Thanjavur. Disclosing this in a press release, Collector B. Priyanka Pankajam has said that all government offices, except the Treasury Department offices, and educational institutions in the district would remain closed on Monday and would function on May 9 in lieu of the holiday declared for the car festival.
