MOORTHY Hailing psychiatrists and psychologists for rehabilitating persons with mental illness into the mainstream of the society, Madras High Court Judge R Suresh Kumar commended the role played by NGOs like the M S Chellamuthu Trust and Research Foundation in this noble cause on Friday. Speaking at the 30th annual day celebrations of the trust Vannangal, he said that rehabilitating people with mental illness was not only challenging, but required aplenty of patience and commitment. He appreciated the trust founder and noted psychiatrist C Ramasubramanian for his yeomen service for over four decades. On the occasion, the Chellamuthu Trust officials announced the reunion of a patient with his family in Maharashtra. After the male patient was treated in their trust at Alagarkoil here, he was given training in skill development and upon getting a placement in New Delhi, the family members were traced and brought to Madurai.
