Madras, April 27: An integrated inter-disciplinary approach should be made to the development of the entire coastal belt between Tiruvanmiyur and Mahabalipuram, Mr. M. S. Balasundaram, former Director-General, Geological Survey of India, said here to-day. Presiding over a workshop on “Groundwater Potential in the Coromandel Series of Rocks along the East Coast” he said the series could be taken as a single unit and investigation conducted in an integrated manner by all disciplines. The approach to development should cover land utilisation, urbanisation, groundwater exploitation and the like.
