The common krait (image for representation) Residents of Mundakkutty, near Kuttiyadi, in Kozhikode district of Kerala are on high alert after five snakes of the venomous common krait species were found inside a house in their area on Sunday night. In Kappummal Ramesan’s house, the first snake was found under a pillow in a room. The residents were in the grip of fear as Mr. Ramesan’s children, aged one and eight, respectively, used to sleep in the same room. Soon after, they spotted another snake of the same species from one of the bathrooms and three other snakes from elsewhere in the house. Six people reside in the house, including Mr. Ramesan, his wife, and his parents.
