The Fire and Rescue Services received a total of 1,368 calls for snake rescue in the first three months this year. The rescued snakes were released into their natural habitats, in coordination with the Forest Department. The 14 fire stations in the district received a total of 644 emergency calls in January, out of which 507 were for snake rescues. Fire stations received 496 calls in February and 411 of them were for snake rescues. As many as 450 out of the 608 calls received in March were also for snake rescues.
