Fire breaks out in paddy field in Kozhikode

A massive fire broke out in a paddy field at Kolathara in Kozhikode district on Wednesday (April 15). The police sources said the blaze spread rapidly across a harvested field after firecrackers were burst recklessly around 2 p.m.

Thick plumes of smoke billowed from the area, causing inconvenience to residents in the locality. The fire was brought under control following the swift intervention of a rescue squad from the Meenchanda fire station.
