Rural farm workers staging a protest in Ballari on Thursday. | Photo Credit: SPECIAL ARRANGEMENT Farm labour under the banner of the All India Kisan Khet Mazdoor Sangh (AIKKMS) staged a protest near the Zilla Panchayat office in Ballari on Thursday demanding guaranteed 100 days of employment for every rural household under the now repealed Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA). The protesters submitted a memorandum addressed to the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister through the Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Panchayat, pressing for immediate measures to ensure adequate employment opportunities for rural workers.
