Transport Minister K.B. Ganesh Kumar has said that the government is actively implementing various welfare schemes to ensure the security and secure the future of KSRTC employees and their families. He was speaking while inaugurating a new ordinary bus service at Sadanandapuram Motel Junction on Sunday. The new service will ply the route through Pathanapuram, Vettikkavala, Sadanandapuram, Ugran Mukku, Kannancode, Thalachira-Pallimukku, Chakkalakkunnu, Chakkuvarackal, Kottavattom, and Elampal to reach Punalur. The Minister added that KSRTC has seen a remarkable increase of 16 lakh passengers compared to the previous year. “KSRTC is currently leading among other State transport undertakings in terms of operational profits,” he said. The Minister announced that the construction of the Pathanapuram St. Mary’s Road, which is being developed at an estimated cost of ₹7 crore, will commence immediately. The inaugural function was presided over by Vettikkavala panchayat member B. Venugopal. Vettikkavala panchayat president Aji Animon, various panchayat members, KSRTC employees, and political party leaders were present at the event.
