Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta conducting a surprise inspection of Aruna Asaf Ali Hospital, in New Delhi on Thursday. | Photo Credit: ANI Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday conducted a surprise inspection at the Delhi government-run Aruna Asaf Ali Hospital and directed authorities to ensure uninterrupted supply of medicines and vaccines. “Several patients complained about the unavailability of medicines, forcing them to purchase them from outside. The CM ordered a check of stock registers and announced a zero-tolerance policy on shortages of medicines and vaccines,” read a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO). “If a medicine is needed today, it must be provided today,” Ms. Gupta said, terming causing inconvenience citizens over basic healthcare needs as a “serious lapse”.
