Officials supervising the demolition of encroachments in Ballari on April 16, 2026. | Photo Credit: SPECIAL ARRANGEMENT The district administration launched a major drive on April 16 to clear long-standing encroachments on government land at several locations across Ballari city. Officials reclaimed about 22 cents of government land behind the Avambhavi temple, where a road had been encroached upon and a retaining wall constructed illegally. The encroached structures were demolished using earthmovers, and a signboard declaring the land as ‘Government Property’ was installed.
