A group of eight Forest department officials, including two women, was stranded for nearly 16 hours deep within the Nagarampara forest under the Munnar forest division in Idukki. The ordeal began when an initial four-member team became lost, followed by a second four-member rescue team that also became trapped in the wilderness.

According to officials, the group—comprised of a deputy range forest officer, a section forest officer (SFO), and six beat forest officers (BFO)—set out for a routine patrolling mission inside the Nagarampara range at approximately 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
