Despite a warning from KPCC president and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, a group of Congress MLAs has decided not to return to Karnataka without meeting AICC general secretaries K.C. Venugopal (organisational matters) and Randeep Singh Surjewala, who is in charge of Karnataka. The legislators intend to press their demand for a Cabinet reshuffle, which, they claim, has been pending for several months.

Speaking to reporters in New Delhi, senior Congress MLA Ashok Pattan said they had travelled to the national capital after obtaining permission from both Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Mr. Shivakumar.
