Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh on Friday claimed that the Central Bureau of Investigation, in its charge sheet, had stated that tests conducted on Tirumala laddu samples by a Central government agency revealed the use of animal fat in their preparation.

Addressing the Telugu Desam Party cadre here on Friday, Mr. Lokesh appealed to them to remain cautious about the political campaign being carried out by the YSR Congress Party on the Tirumala laddu issue and urged them to share facts with the public.

“The CBI has clearly stated in its charge sheet, on page number 35, that the tests of Tirumala laddu samples established that animal fat was used in the preparation of the laddus. Now, the YSRCP has begun a drama with the aim of blaming the TDP for its own mistakes. Party cadre should be vigilant,” Mr. Lokesh said.

Stating that it was time to place facts before the people, he said the TDP had decided not to politicise the Tirumala laddu issue.

Rajya Sabha member Sana Sateesh, TDP Kakinada Parliament in-charge Jyothula Naveen Kumar and other senior leaders were present.
