Housing assurances by the AIADMK and welfare measures cited by the DMK formed the focus of campaigning in the Thondamuthur Assembly constituency as candidates stepped up outreach. DMK candidate N.R. Karthikeyan expressed the confidence of securing a decisive victory. Addressing meetings in Dhaliyur, Alandurai and Perur, he said the party would achieve a comprehensive win in the constituency. Referring to his tenure as Narasipuram panchayat president, he said his public service had been recognised with the Uttamar Gandhi Award from the Tamil Nadu government. He said he had maintained contact with people and addressed grievances.
