The Additional District and Sessions Court at Manjeri sentenced a mini bus driver to five years of imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹27,500 for causing a fatal accident at Ayikkarapadi near Kondotty that claimed five lives a decade ago. The accused, Shameer Kanjirandi, 43, from Peravoor, was found guilty of speeding and negligent driving. The court held that the crash resulted from excessive speed and reckless conduct behind the wheel.
