VENGADESH Except for a malfunctioning of Electronic Voting Machine and confusion over the agents of candidates here and there, the four constituencies in Karur district witnessed brisk and peaceful polling on Thursday. Right from the start of the exercise at 7 a.m. the polling was brisk. Many voters stood in queues in several booths even before the start of polling. Enthusiasm was palpable among all sections and all age groups. While the elders and those aged above 35 used the first two hours to cast votes, youths, and first time voters began visiting their respective polling booths from 9 a.m. More than 180 voters cast votes out of 723 voters within the first two hours of polling at a booth at Rachandranthirumalai in Kulithalai constituency.
