The Puducherry unit of Bharatiya Janata Party has decided to organise several protests against the INDIA bloc for not supporting the Central government’s plan to bring legislations in Parliament for implementing the 33 per cent reservation for women in Lok Sabha and State Assembly elections. The BJP said the party would organise a protest rally in the town on Friday. Elected representatives, senior leaders and women functionaries will take part in the protest rally from Raja Theatre junction. Various committees have been formed to organise protests at constituency, district and block-levels in the coming days. Seminars involving self-help group members and social organisations would also be held to expose the INDIA bloc for opposing the legislations in the Lok Sabha, the release said.
