Also read | The burden of the new Bihar Chief Minister Mr. Choudhary was elected as the leader of the BJP and NDA Legislature Parties on Tuesday (April 14, 2026), following days of suspense and speculation, and an hour after Nitish Kumar officially resigned as Bihar’s longest serving Chief Minister. Mr. Kumar, the leader of the JD (U), became a Rajya Sabha MP last week. Along with Mr. Choudhary from the BJP, two Deputy CMs from alliance party JD-U Bijendra Prasad Yadav and Vijay Kumar Choudhary too are likely to be sworn-in.
