Bengaluru rains: Homes flooded in Jai Bheem Nagar, residents report repeated losses

Torrential rains and hailstorm on Wednesday (April 29, 2026) evening led to water entering several houses in Jai Bheem Nagar in Chalavadipalya ward, damaging utensils, ration supplies, clothes and other household items in the slum area.

Manjamma, a resident, said she lost a gold chain worth ₹15,000 after water flooded her house. “Later, when the water receded, I realised even cash of around ₹2,000 was missing,” she said.
