Invoking the enduring relevance of 12th century social reformer Basaveshwara’s ideas in a world marked by inequality and conflict, progressive thinker Shankar Devanoor said that Basaveshwara’s philosophy is a timeless guide for building an ethical and compassionate society.

Delivering a lecture during the Basava Jayanthi celebrations in Kalaburagi on April 19, Professor Devanoor described Basaveshwara not merely as a social reformer but as a civilisational thinker whose ideas transcend geography, religion and time.
