At least 14 people were rescued after a major fire that broke out in an electric transformer spread to multiple residential buildings in east Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar area in the early hours of Saturday (April 24, 2026), an official said. According to the Delhi Fire Service (DFS), the blaze was reported around 12.30 a.m. near Nanak Motor in Ramesh Park. Initial firefighting units were rushed to the spot, but the fire soon intensified.
