Annamalai pitches for NDA, criticises DMK over unfulfilled promises

BJP leader K. Annamalai on Wednesday campaigned in support of AIADMK candidates Kadambur Raju and R. Sathya, who are contesting from Kovilpatti and Vilathikulam Assembly constituencies, under the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

Addressing a campaign in Kovilpatti, he said that the town is known across the country for matchbox production and its peanut candy. He added that when 18% GST was imposed on matchboxes, Mr. Raju and other BJP leaders took up the issue with the Union Finance Minister, following which the GST was reduced to 12% and later to 5%.
