Stalin of spreading unnecessary fear that delimitation would reduce Tamil Nadu’s voice in Parliament, stating that recent announcements by the Union government prove such claims false and confirm that the State’s representation will instead increase slightly. Dr. Anbumani welcomed assurances given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah that Tamil Nadu’s Lok Sabha constituencies will not be reduced. On the contrary, the number of seats is expected to rise by nearly 50%, from 39 to 59, in line with other States, he said.
