AIADMK workers throw eggs at partymen’s car for canvassing votes for BJP candidate

A group of AIADMK workers reportedly threw eggs at the car of members of their own party for mobilising support for the BJP candidate for the Vasudevanallur constituency on Friday (April 17, 2026). This was the former’s way of expressing their opposition to the national party’s nominee. 

When AIADMK union secretary Ramesh and his supporters went to Veeriruppu village on Friday in his car to canvass votes for the BJP candidate for the reserved constituency, Ananthan Ayyasamy, a group of AIADMK men from the village, as well as a few others, opposed them. They categorically stated that they would not allow anyone to enter the village to mobilise support for Mr. Ayyasamy.
