A jet ski trial run was conducted at the Madhavaram and Manali lakes on Saturday as part of plans to introduce recreational boating facilities at the water bodies. The trial follows an announcement that boathouses would be established at the Madhavaram lake and the adjacent Manali lake by Pongal. Officials said the initiative is aimed at promoting tourism and providing leisure options for residents. Sources said the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) is planning to purchase motor boats, pedal boats and paddle boats for using it at the lakes.
