Ramchander Rao on Sunday alleged that the condition of Hindus in the State has turned “increasingly alarming” under the Congress government, accusing it of pursuing appeasement politics at the cost of Hindu faith and security. Referring to what he described as repeated attacks on temples and incidents involving cow protectors, Mr.Rao said these were not isolated cases but part of a “dangerous pattern” that reflected the government’s negligence. He claimed that the Congress, under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s leadership, had failed to protect Hindu beliefs and sentiments. Citing the recent Malkajgiri incident, Mr.Rao said the alleged desecration of the Kattamaisamma temple premises amounted to a serious attack on the Hindu faith. He criticised the Congress government, leaders of the opposition BRS and sections of the mainstream media for remaining “silent” on the issue. “The continued silence sends a clear message that the system will not respond when Hindus are targeted,” he said, asserting that the BJP alone was raising its voice in defence of Hindu interests. The BJP leader warned that his party would not remain a “silent spectator” to attacks on the Hindu faith and announced that the party would launch agitations for the protection of temples, Hindu dignity and cow protection. He maintained that the struggle was cultural in nature and not driven by political considerations.
