Water level in Mullaperiyar dam on Sunday stood at 130.20 feet (the maximum permissible level is 142 ft.) with an inflow of 71 cusecs and a discharge of 1,000 cusecs. The level in Vaigai dam was 49.97 ft. (the maximum level is 71 ft.) with an inflow of 721 cusecs and a discharge of 1,869 cusecs. Combined storage in Periyar credit was 6,401.80 mcft. Rainfall recorded in the 24 hrs (in mm): Pulipatti 21.4, Chittampatti 20.4, Kallandiri 18, Madurai 15.8, Kodaikanal 13, Melur 10.2, Periyapatti 9.4, Viraganur 9.2, Thaniyamangalam 8, Elumalai 7.8, Idayapatti 5, Peranai 2.6, Thekkadi 2.4, Shanmuganadhi 1.8, Uthamapalayam 1.4, Sothupparai 1.4, and Gudalur 1.2.
