Sri Gurunarayana Kalapetham founder B.A. Narayana said that Saint Tyagaraja (1767-1847) would continue to inspire budding musicians across the world as he had given shape to modern Carnatic music. As part of Sri Tyagaraja Aradhanotsavam, he felicitated musicians P.V.S. Seshayya Shastri and Padmavati in Vizianagaram on Saturday.

Musicians enthralled the audience singing pancharatna Kritis of Tyagaraja at a concert organised at the Kalapetham premises and later at the Rotary community hall in the evening.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Narayana hoped that Vizianagaram continues to lead as the cultural capital of Andhra Pradesh with the training of budding musicians in the city.

Rotary Dasigi Perraju Music Academy founder D.V. Srikanth, its principal Mandapaka Ravi, Kalapetham founder G. Sanyasamma, assistant secretary B. Venkatesh, the reception committee president Ganta Ravi and others attended the event.
