Image for representation. The Erattupetta municipal authorities have warned strong legal action against alleged hate campaigns circulating on social media, which they said are aimed at defaming the region on communal lines. According to municipal chairperson V.P. Nassar, attempts are being made to stoke communal tensions in the aftermath of a recent road accident in the town. He said a social media post by an aggrieved party involved in the incident has sought to give the accident a communal colour. “Such narratives are unacceptable and amount to defaming Erattupetta as a whole. Any attempt to communalise the accident will not be tolerated under any circumstances,” he said.
