A two-day International Media Conference 2026, organised by the Nitte Institute of Communication (NICO) under Nitte University, concluded, in Mangaluru on Wednesday.

Delivering the keynote address, University Deputy Registrar C. Suma Ballal emphasised the evolving role of the media in a digital society. She noted that while modern media has integrated advanced technologies like Artificial Intelligence, its fundamental duty remains rooted in human-centric reporting backed by solid facts and data. Ms. Ballal urged media professionals to maintain a pro-people stance, particularly concerning the conference’s core themes of global peace and ceasefire efforts.
