Vengadesh In an attempt to regulate the movement of vehicles, Tiruchi City Police have installed flexible traffic bollards on Cauvery bridge that connects the island town of Srirangam with the city’s mainland in Tiruchi. Reckless and rash driving, unethical overtaking and indiscriminate parking of vehicles have been the hallmark of the 1.2 km-long bridge. Buses, mainly private vehicles, often come under the scanner for unethical overtaking, thereby causing inconvenience to small vehicles and two-wheeler riders. In order to put the brakes on overtaking, the traffic police have installed the bollards.
