Manjunath The Karnataka State Licenced Electrical Contractors Association, Dakshina Kannada district unit has called for ‘MESCOM Chalo’ rally if the MESCOM fails to resolve the problem related to Non-RAPDRP system within a week, which pertains to billing and related matters in rural areas of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Shivamogga and Chikkamagaluru districts. Talking to reporters in Mangaluru on Wednesday, former Vice President of State Association Urban Pinto said since April 2, the Non-RAPDRP system has not been working and this has affected reading of meters and issuance of bills in rural areas of the four districts. As a result, consumers were being made to pay power bill, which was being issued manually on the basis of average monthly power consumption. The company managing the system has failed to set it right so far, Mr. Pinto said.
