Special Chief Secretary (Energy) K. Vijayanand addressing a review meeting on the power sector in Vijayawada on Wednesday. Special Chief Secretary (Energy) K. Vijayanand has instructed senior officials of the power utilities to prepare a comprehensive action plan to effectively manage power supply during the peak summer period until the monsoon sets in, as the State is already witnessing a sharp increase in power consumption, with daily demand reaching around 275 Million Units (MU). Addressing a review meeting at Vidyut Soudha here on Wednesday, Mr. Vijayanand said the rising temperatures would cause a significant increase in load, and that necessary steps should be taken to meet the same as May, June and July were going to be critical months.
