Nine persons were arrested for allegedly engaging in online cricket betting through mobile applications, Superintendent of Police Vakul Jindal said at a press conference at the district police headquarters on Wednesday. According to the police, the arrests were made on the night of April 28 under the Nagarampalem police station limits. Acting on credible information, Circle Inspector Satyanarayana and his team conducted a raid at an open space behind a tea stall in Sriram Nagar First Line, where the accused were found placing bets on cricket matches through online platforms.
