A proposal to organise a grand annual carnival in Hyderabad during November and December is set to anchor Telangana’s renewed push to position itself as a leading tourism destination, with Tourism and Culture Minister Jupally Krishna Rao directing officials to build a time-bound action plan around infrastructure, branding and promotion.

Chairing a meeting of the Tourism Advisory Committee on Tuesday, Mr.Rao said the carnival should be designed to attract both domestic and international tourists, and evolve into a self-sustaining model backed by sponsorships.
