A large number of students attended an awareness programme on ‘Women and Child Safety’ organised by the district police at the SP Office in Paderu on Tuesday. The programme was followed by a large rally from the SP Office to the Old Bus Stand. Superintendent of Police, Amit Bardar, attended the event as the chief guest, and spoke about consequences of child marriages, the laws in force against them, and the legal actions that would be taken if such marriages are conducted. He also spoke about children’ addiction to the mobile phone and its misuse and urged parents to closely monitor their children’s mobile phone usage.
