Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited (KSDL), set up in 1916 as the government soap factory by Maharaja Krishna Raja Wadiyar IV to utilise surplus sandalwood reserves during World War I, has set an ambitious turnover target of ₹3,000 crore by 2028 and ₹5,000 crore by 2030.

The State-owned enterprise, on Tuesday, announced a turnover of ₹2,016 crore and a profit of ₹507 crore during the March 31-ended financial year 2025-26. Speaking on the occasion, M.B. Patil, Minister of Large and Medium Scale Industries, said that while it took the organisation 105 years to reach a turnover of ₹1,000 crore, it doubled this figure to ₹2,000 crore in just four years.
