Congress slams BJP over Ghazipur case, alleges curbs on its delegation’s visit

The Congress on Tuesday (April 28, 2026) accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of presiding over a sharp rise in atrocities against Dalits, and Other Backward Classes (OBCs), in States under the BJP’s rule. The Opposition party alleged that its leaders had been unlawfully stopped from meeting the family of a 17-year-old girl found dead in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghazipur district earlier this month.

The Congress demanded that cases be registered against the concerned Uttar Pradesh government officials as the fundamental rights of its members were being violated.
