In a significant judgment, the Kozhikode Motor Accidents Claims Tribunal (MACT) Principal Bench has awarded ₹9.01 crore as compensation to the family of a person who died in a road accident. Shijin, a native of Thiruvangoor who worked in the UAE, died after being hit by a lorry, allegedly driven rashly and negligently, at Malikkadavu around 1 a.m. on March 28, 2023.
