Bricks placed as a temporary arrangement for traffic islands at a few locations in Coimbatore city have raised safety concerns among motorists, with commuters pointing to the risk posed by the loosely arranged materials on busy stretches. At spots near Kurichi Lake, G.V. Residency and other areas, bricks have been positioned on the carriageway to indicate traffic segregation or regulate movement at junctions. However, road users said the arrangement lacks visibility, especially during night hours and in low-light conditions, increasing the chances of two-wheeler riders losing balance or vehicles hitting the obstruction.
