The city of Visakhapatnam is gearing up for the high-profile groundbreaking ceremony of the hyperscale 1 GW AI data centre being set up by global tech giant Google on April 28. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will lay the foundation stone for it at Tarluvada village in Anandapuram mandal.

Speaking about the project to The Hindu, Member of Parliament from Visakhapatnam, M. Sribharat, was candid in saying that the project may not directly provide employment to a large number of people, but it will certainly change the economic fabric of the city and that of the entire north Andhra region.
