AAP defections

The exodus of high-profile leaders from the primary membership of the Aam Aadmi Party is the party’s worst existential crisis to date, leaving it at a political crossroads. For a party that set out to overhaul the political system, the steady loss of leaders is a clear sign of inadequate engagement by its central leadership with the rank and file. AAP needs to strengthen its grassroots, purge power brokers and sycophants, and quell internal dissent and factionalism by grooming second-rung leaders through a spirit of consensus.
