Arignar Anna Zoological Park has received a female Asiatic wild donkey as part of an animal exchange programme with Sakkarbaug Zoological Garden, Junagadh, Gujarat, according to an official press note issued on April 22. In return, the zoo sent one male and two female white peafowl, two male and two female mouse deer, and two unsexed yellow anacondas to Sakkarbaug Zoo. Officials said the exchange was carried out to improve animal pairing and welfare. With the arrival of the female, the lone male Asiatic wild ass at the Vandalur zoo now has a compatible mate.
