Automatic sewing machines to 1,000 women each in 119 constituencies at 100% subsidy: Ponnam

Continuing the spree of welfare schemes, the State Government has decided to supply 1,000 automatic sewing machines at 100% subsidy to eligible women in each of the 119 Assembly constituencies to empower women.

The initiative aims at providing tailoring based self employment to skilled backward classes women. It envisaged support to women to enhance their productivity, expand their tailoring business and become self-reliant entrepreneurs. Orders to this effect have been issued by the State Government recently.
