The Special Court (Red Sanders cases) in Tirupati on Friday (April 24, 2026) sentenced a 29-year-old man to five years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹3 lakh. The case dates back to 2018 and was registered at the Rompicherla police station in Chittoor district. L.S. Vijay alias Sudhakar, a resident of Chennai, was found guilty under the A.P. Forest (Amendment) Act, 2016. Police said he was caught on January 14, 2018, while transporting red sanders logs from the Seshachalam hills.
