EVMS, VVpats and other polling materials being sealed in the strong room, in the presence of General Observer, District Election Officer and representatives from various political parties, at Government polytechnic in Udhagamandalam on Friday. | Photo Credit: SATHYAMOORTHY M Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trails (VVPAT) units and polling materials from the three assembly segments of Ooty, Gudalur and Coonoor in The Nilgiris were moved to the strong room at the Government Polytechnic College in Udhagamandalam on Friday. In a press release, the Nilgiris district administration said that the polling materials were stored in the strong room in the presence of election observers, election officers and candidates and their representatives. It also added that a three-tier security system is in place to ensure the security of the polling materials till the day of counting.
