The 10 Assembly constituencies in Tiruvallur district saw brisk polling from the morning on Thursday by recording over 80% voting with Gummidipoondi recording the highest voting of 87.45% as of 5 p.m. on Thursday. 

The Assembly constituencies of Tiruvallur, Ponneri, Maduravoyal and Madhavaram, are witnessing a rematch of the 2021 Assembly election. In 2021, V.G. Rajendran of the DMK had defeated B.V. Ramana of the AIADMK by 22,701 votes. Similarly, in the reserved Ponneri constituency, the incumbent Durai Chandrasekar of the Congress party had defeated Siruniyam P. Balaraman of the AIADMK in 2021. They are contesting again now.
