There was high voter turnout in The Nilgiris, with an average of 75.90% of votes being cast till 5 p.m. According to officials, 75.85% of votes were cast in Coonoor, 74.34% in Ooty and 77.53% in Gudalur. Voters turned out in large numbers across the district. In a polling booth in Khandal in Udhagamandalam, long lines started forming at around 9 a.m and continued till afternoon.
