In a first, Tamil Nadu has a dedicated helpline for deaf persons on voting day. They can contact sign language interpreters through videoconference and calls. According to a press release, a T.N. Voter Signline has been set up for deaf persons at +919498345350. This can be used for assistance at polling centres. Further, persons with disability and senior citizens in Chennai can avail free vehicle facilities arranged by the Chennai district to help them reach polling booths on voting day, the release said. They can do so by contacting the Saksham App, the District Information Center at 1950, or the District Election Office Control Room number 1800-425-7012.
