Following a rescue operation, officials arrested key suspects and registered a case. The police said, during a drive on ‘cyber slavery’-related patrolling, social media monitoring was carried out under the supervision of Superintendent of Police, Cyber Crime Wing I. Shahnaz. Based on credible inputs, the operation was conducted by the State Cyber Command Centre. The police found that an agent from Madurai was trafficking victims to cyberscam compounds under the guise of ‘data entry’ job offers. Victims were lured through fake recruitment processes, including typing tests, video interviews, and medical examinations, with promises of high salary, easy work, and free accommodation.
